MYK and MAKÜ Will Jointly Determine Occupational Standards in the Field of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry.

May 10, 2024, Bitlis – The Regional Development-Oriented Mission Differentiation and Specialization Program Evaluation Meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Higher Education Council (YÖK) President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, hosted by Bitlis Eren University. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin DALGAR and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hakan ÖNER attended the meeting.

Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar stated in his speech at the meeting that, in line with the goals of increasing diversity and internationalization in higher education as the Higher Education Council, they are successfully conducting the Regional Development-Oriented Mission Differentiation and Specialization Project with 25 universities selected from all over Turkey. He mentioned that the expression 'Regional Development-Oriented Mission Differentiation and Specialization Project' is included in the highest policy document of the state, as stated in the 682.5 numbered communiqué of the 12th Development Plan published in the Official Gazette dated November 1, 2023, following the 11th Development Plan. Prof. Dr. Özvar emphasized that this project is a strategic initiative aimed at maximizing the regional potentials of universities in line with Turkey's development goals. He also expressed that internationally qualified publications produced from the projects are very important and that they are monitoring this, while stating, “A competition based on ethical values will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our universities, and in this regard, I want our universities to develop their aspects that can produce competitive advantage.” Prof. Dr. Özvar, who stated that he values international university rankings, reminded the goals of Turkish universities to be in the top 100 and top 500 in the world.

At the Regional Development-Oriented Mission Differentiation and Specialization Meeting, the work carried out by the 25 universities included in the program was evaluated. In this meeting, Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University ranked at the top in terms of performance among all specialization universities according to the evaluations made by the Higher Education Council.

After the meeting, Higher Education Council President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar and other participants discussed the steps to be taken to further strengthen our university's interaction in regional and international fields.

In the evaluations made after the meeting, Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar expressed his happiness in being at the top in many performance criteria among universities with a regional development mission, and thanked the academics who contributed to this success. He stated that they will continue to contribute to the internationalization policy of the Higher Education Council and the academic brand of the country with regional development efforts.
